SGA was the first program in Central PA to produce USAG Regional and National Champions

Thank you for your interest in our competitive team program.  Scorpions gymnastics academy is a family run business run by Danielle and Richard Rock and under the direction of Dj Bunting and Shellie Porter.  SGA offers a developmental through Level ten program for athletes seeking to compete on the local, state regional or national level.  We take great pride in offering the best quality instruction in central Pennsylvania by providing a well structured and fast paced workouts with an emphasis on basics, form and conditioning.  Our competitive program is comprised of developmental, compulsory, and optional teams.  

The SGA developmental team program is designed to rapidly accelerate the development of participating athletes.  During this stage athletes are introduced to both basic and intermediate gymnastics skills, strength, flexibility and trampoline progressions as well as various styles of dance, giving athletes the foundation needed to become high functioning gymnasts.  At this level, gymnast rarely participate in traditional competitions but will have numerous opportunities to compete in inter squad meets and exhibitions.

The SGA compulsory program(Levels 3 through 6) is designed to give each athlete the competitive experience needed to succeed and advance into the optional ranks.  At this level, the experience that is gained from competition is the main goal.

The SGA optional program(Levels 7 through 10) strongly emphasizes competition.  It is at this level, that the two previous come together providing a solid foundation for high level competitive gymnastics.  It is our goal that athletes involved at this level have the opportunity to continue their gymnastics experience at any level, collegiate, or Elite.

SGA acknowledges that our competitive program is not for everyone.  We provide a highly competitive atmosphere in which each athlete is driven to achieve their personal best.  Although we strive to promote a positive environment, there will undoubtedly be times when both practice and competition becomes intense.  The development of each child is equally as important to our staff as their development as an athlete, however our sport deals in calculated risks that must be understood and respected.  Our primary task with your child is to train them as a gymnast.


GOLD STAR

GOLD STAR is the Elite athlete development program for SGA.  This program is open to any Scorpions gymnast regardless of age or level as long as all required criteria are met.  SGA has developed a program based on proven training systems to produce competitive gains and skill results in a fraction of the time as our competitors.  While this program is open to everyone, it is not for everyone.  Each athlete has different goals and levels of commitment, and the GOLD STAR program requires an effort, time and monetary  obligation over and above that of our regular competitive team program.  This program is designed for the athlete whom wishes to elevate herself above her peers in both training and competitions.

If you are considering any of our team programs, a child and parent observation can be scheduled by appointment.  If after this observation you are interested, your daughter may participate in one scheduled workout with a signed waiver of liability.  After your initial workout, a one week trial period is available with the payment of the prorated monthly tuition and registration.  Thank you again for your interest in our program.  Please feel free to contact Coach Dj Bunting or Shellie Porter scorpionsgymnasticsacaemy@gmail.com
